Product Availability

What if the piece I want to order is currently out of stock?

We are proud to create all of our jewellery locally in the UK, with all pieces threaded and finished in our London studio. And as part of our commitment to sustainability we take a conscientious approach to production in order to avoid excess - often this means that pieces show on the site as out of stock or only available for pre-order. Typically this means we will make-to-order, a process that takes between 4-6 weeks.

If you had your heart set on a piece that is showing as out of stock please contact us via customercare@thousandfibres.com and we will do our best to give you an idea of when it is likely to be available again, and if there is any option for pre-order.

The best way to discover when new pieces are due to drop on the site is to sign up to our newsletters and keep an eye on our Instagram Stories. This is also where you'll hear first about limited edition colours, collections and offers.

What if you don't offer the colour that I'd like?

We offer a custom-colour service and love working with you to create bespoke pieces in shades that carry personal meanings.

Scroll through our colour options (on each product page) and you can order your chosen piece with 'custom colours'. Once purchased, one of our team will be in touch by email to request more details from you. It helps if you have a shade in mind so feel free to email over any inspiration, colour swatches, or examples!
The process typically takes 2-3 weeks.
We work with you to decide on your preferred colours and combinations.
And we send through visuals for your approval before your piece is threaded and posted out.

PRODUCT CARE

How should I take care of my Thousand Fibres piece?
All of our pieces are made with the highest quality materials - the recycled 925 sterling silver and thick 3 micron plating of the 18ct gold vermeil have been selected for their wearability and durability.

As with all precious metals, and to ensure that your pieces are kept in the best condition, we suggest that you wear them with care. This means avoiding any contact with water, fragrance, skincare products and lotions.

Make your jewellery the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you remove at night. We also suggest taking off all jewellery when at the gym, beach, pool or in the shower or bath in order to keep it in top condition.

When they're not being worn, make sure to store your pieces in their jewellery pouch / box, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

Where our pieces incorporate thread, we use natural cotton that has been mercerised. This makes the threads stronger, and less likely to split or fray. It also ensures that their colour stays true and lustrous for longer. As with any natural fibres, the cotton will inevitably change in tone and texture with wear.

Whilst the precious metals are made to last, the threads by their very nature, are more transient. Fallen threads are symbolic - they mark a readiness for change, an emergence of new and necessary beginnings. For threads on which wishes were made, a fallen thread signifies that the wish is ready to play out. And for those threads that offered protection, support and strength, the shedding shows a passing of anything that no longer serves you and is now ready to be let go.

If and when your threads eventually fall off, or the time comes for your piece to have new messages, meaning and life breathed into it, let us know and we will happily rethread them for you.

RE-THREADING

Our hand-tying techniques are such that the threads on your Thousand Fibres pieces should tighten with wear, and over time (we do not use any adhesives in the threading process). Due to the delicate (and symbolic) nature of the threads,  should your piece require a little TLC we will gladly take care of it for you, offering a free re-threading service (within 6 months of purchase). Simply get in touch, and we'll be happy to help you.

If it has been over 6 months we will still gladly rethread your piece, however there will be a nominal £20 charge for rethreading. Do get in touch with us via email - we stand by our products and want to ensure you love them.
